Save the Dates
Save the Date cards are more common now than ever before, as popular venues and destination events will want guests to book reservations far in advance. Save the dates cards should be sent out roughly 1 year to 8 months ahead of the event date. This is also a great time to let your guests know if you are going to have a wedding website. Any travel/booking information as well as website information should be given with this card.
Traditional Styles
Nothing is as sacred as tradition; and when planning your wedding, you can afford to be traditional. Invite your guests with elegant borders and monograms on classically colored papers. Choose from several classic colors which are elegant and sophisticated. Accent these invitations with embossed borders, embellishments and classic scipt fonts for the ultimate traditional representation. Traditional invite are more formal, and will set a romantic and ‘fancy’ affair! Invitations are usually sent out 5-4 months before the day of the event. Also allow at least 1 month before the event for rsvp due dates - that way you have a month to contact any missing rsvp’s and to organize seating.
Rustic Styles
Petals of all shapes and colors decorate these wedding invitations. Create an elegant ambiance with roses, calla lilies, daisies and more. Flowers, trees, mountains and anything earthy, are a wonderful way to invite your guests. The soft and delicate nature of flowers lends itself well to spring and summer weddings. Pine trees and darker florals work well for fall and winter weddings.
Modern Styles
By choosing a modern wedding invite you are inviting your guests to anticipate a wedding with a unique twist – something unexpectedly elegant. Clean, sleek, and chic modern wedding invitations are sure to please the eye with straight lines, beautiful use of space and gorgeous simplicity. The text is commonly more simple, a less is more approach.
Destination Styles
When your special day will take place in an 'holiday location', a travel theme works well. Passport style invites and postcard stationery are fun ways to invite your guests to travel along! Palm trees, hibiscus, or carribean colours inspire, and would be lovely day-of-stationery colours to pop a menu place card. Please keep in mind with most destination weddings a save the date or early invite send out is important. You want to give your guests ample time to plan and book reservations! With this in mind there is no common hand out date for destination weddings, you need to send these out asap. Include all booking information, website and rsvp information. It is also common to include hotel, flight and extra excursion information.
