Rodney’s Oyster House in downtown Calgary is the perfect venue to capture all things natural in this greenery inspired wedding style shoot. With beautiful skylights, this old brick building has the perfect ambiance with oversized barn tables, crisp white ceilings, linens and tableware.
With this style shoot Megan Sawchuk and I wanted to keep the look clean and simple, relying on the natural beauty of the venue. The ceremony space is simple and so elegant. White drapery displayed with greenery in front of the windows capture an angelic light. Perfect for a small scale wedding, beautiful modern wood chairs help set the space.
For the table centerpiece we used gold sparkle table runners with greenery overlayed with gold glass candle voltives. The effect is minimalist, but captures the feeling of an intimate and romantic affair. The chargers and flatware are gold, a beautiful accent to the crisp linens and glassware.
Wooden place cards are a great way to personalize the seating and give a gift to your guests. We folded the napkins horizontally to showcase the chargers,
as well as presenting the menu and place cards. Thank you tags with air plants are displayed beside the glasses as a further gift for guests.
Stationery was key in incorporating the greenery theme at this affair. Soft watercolour leaves, printed on thick crisp white cardstock captured a simple, classic look. Matching invitation set, program, thank you card and ceremony sign completed the look for guests attending.
A wooden cake topper, engraved like the place cards helped tie the cake style to the theme of greenery as well. The leaves on the cake pop, and are playful.
